(hereinafter, “AIBS”) recognizes the importance of protecting the rights and interests of the individual while also considering the usefulness of personal information, and in order to handle personal information properly, has established the Basic Policy on Personal Information Protection as follows, appointed a person in charge of information management for the protection of personal information, and thoroughly informs its directors, employees, and the like thereof as AIBS strives for appropriate personal information protection.

Basic Policy on Personal Information Protection

  1. AIBS shall comply with all laws, ordinances, guidelines, and other regulations concerning the protection of personal information, as well as the information management rules of AIBS.
  2. Based on the information management rules, AIBS shall appropriately manage personal information and take safety management measures against the risks of unauthorized access as well as information leakage and loss or damage.
  3. AIBS shall handle personal information appropriately as follows.
    1. Specifying as well as notifying and announcing the purpose of use
      1. AIBS shall specify the purpose of use of personal information as specifically as possible.
      2. When acquiring personal information, AIBS shall either publish the purpose of use in advance, or publish the purpose of use or notify the concerned individual thereof promptly after acquisition.
    2. Acquiring and handling
      1. AIBS shall acquire personal information appropriately and handle it within the scope of the purpose of use.
    3. Providing to third parties
      1. AIBS shall not provide personal data to a third party without the consent of the concerned individual, except in the case of outsourcing or the like.
    4. Outsourcing
      1. When providing personal data to an outsourcing contractor, AIBS shall select a contractor that is capable of safely managing said data and shall supervise the contractor as necessary and appropriate.
    5. Responding to requests for notification, disclosure, etc.
      1. In the event that the concerned individual makes a request for notification of the purpose of use regarding the personal data retained by AIBS, or a request for the disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, deletion, or prohibition of provision to a third party regarding the said data, AIBS shall promptly respond to said request if said request is appropriate.
  4. In the event of a complaint or other trouble related to personal information, the person in charge of information management shall promptly work to solve the problem, investigate the cause of the problem, take immediate corrective action, work to prevent recurrence, and promptly and accurately disclose information.

Handling of Personal Information

Definition of Personal Information

“Personal information” refers to the following information about a living individual.

  1. Information that can identify a specific individual by the name, date of birth, or other description contained in the said information.

AIBS shall appropriately manage the personal information received from users and shall not disclose personal information to third parties except in the following cases.

  1. When the customer has given consent.
  2. When AIBS discloses information to outsourcing contractors for providing services requested by the customer.
  3. When it is difficult to obtain the consent of the concerned individual in a case where disclosure is necessary to protect the life, health, or property of an individual.
  4. When disclosure is required by law.

Measures for Safe Management of Personal Information

Based on relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines, AIBS shall take the necessary and appropriate measures to manage access to personal information, to restrict the means by which personal information can be removed, and to prevent unauthorized access from external sources, as well as to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of personal information and to otherwise safely manage personal information.

Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, and Deletion of Personal Information

When a customer or partner requests the disclosure, correction, suspension of use, or deletion of personal information in accordance with the provisions of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, AIBS shall respond to the request without delay after confirming that the request was indeed made by the concerned individual. However, this does not apply to cases in which AIBS is not obligated to disclose such information in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other laws and regulations.

Use of SSL (Encrypted Telecommunication)

The AIBS website uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encrypted telecommunication to safely protect the customer’s personal information. By using an SSL-compatible browser, the customer’s personal information is automatically encrypted before being sent and received.

Use of Cookies

Some pages on the AIBS website use cookies in order to provide the customer with better service. Cookies do not collect information that can be used to identify an individual and do not violate the customer’s privacy. You can also change your browser settings if you do not wish to accept cookies.
